The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. Albert Einstein

And this doesn't even account for how lame-o you get when, at 3 1/2 years, baby comes along :) You're not only snoozing on the couch, but you're snoozing approximately 10 minutes after you put the kid to bed...at 8pm!

A woman in her 20's survived horrific sexual abuses as a woman in Zimbabwe, where such abuse is considered private and not to be talked about. She fought back young, even after losing her mother to abuse. Now she has started grassroots efforts to end what she calls "the silent genocide of Zimbabwe's women" through support groups, activism and education. Every victim has the opportunity to become a leader, this is an excellent example of taking the truly terrible experiences of a victimized childhood and turning those experiences into hope for others in the same situation.

WOW! I just caught this story on CNN and had to highlight the page. Sailors wanting to make a statement about the incredible amount of litter in our oceans have made a raft sustained with 15k plastic bottles found in the water. They've made plans to sail to Hawaii, and are half way there. Not sure to cheer for the sailors or get mad about the litter. Both, perhaps?
